If your doors already have commercial-grade mortise lock bodies or cylindrical locks with standard keyways, our technicians can often re-key and re-pin the existing cylinders to fit into a new hierarchy, or swap only the cylinder rather than the full lockset. However, if the existing hardware is worn, low-grade, or uses a keyway with too few available combinations for your system size, replacing the cylinders or full lock bodies will deliver a more reliable result. We assess each door individually during the planning phase and recommend only what is genuinely necessary.

That is a policy question only you can answer, but from a security standpoint we recommend keeping the grand master strictly with ownership or the most senior building manager — not with daily operations staff. Sub-master keys should be issued at the lowest level of access that still lets each person do their job.
